To begin your journey, plan a visit to the legendary Colosseum in Rome. Walk through the streets of its vibrant nightlife as you admire the Sistine Chapel. After admiring Michelangelo’s David sculpture in Florence, visit the colorful seaside villages of Cinque Terre. Before driving through the famous Ponte Vecchio, enjoy pizza and bridges. Venice is known for its traveling events, hand-blown art, and carnival masks.

Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Arrive in Rome

The best in travel is Rome, the city of the seven hills! According to legend, Romulus and Remus founded Rome on Palatine Hill in 753 BCE. Rome was once considered the center of the Roman Empire, with nearly 3,000 years of history, architecture, and culture.

Transfer from the airport to the historic center of Rome. After you have settled in, take a stroll to see the Eternal City for the first time. Before you spend the next few days sightseeing, spend the first few hours visiting some of the highlights.

Day 2: Visit the Colosseum & Forum

Plan a trip to the Colosseum, the world’s largest amphitheater, to learn about the Roman Empire’s history. You can feel as if you are walking through the Roman Empire when you walk through the ancient theater. You’ll also learn about Julius Caesar, Augustus and Nero, and the Flavian Emperors who constructed the Colosseum.

As you approach the Colosseum, you will notice three levels of arches. This arch was built in 312 AD in honor of Emperor Constantine’s victory in the battle of Milvian Bridge, which took place adjacent to the Colosseum. They are all very close to one another, as are the Colosseum and Roman Forum, within the same archaeological area.

Day 3: Vatican Tour: Sistine Chapel, Museums, & St Peter’s Basilica

A 3-hour guided tour of the city’s incredible art and history will take you to the Vatican City museums and, among other places, the Sistine Chapel. In addition to its rich history, the Vatican houses some of the greatest Renaissance masterpieces in the world. Before you end your evening, enjoy pizza, gelato, and people-watching on the piazza.

Day 4: Rome to Florence, Wine Tasting Experience

Let’s leave Rome in the morning and head to Florence. The iconic Duomo of Florence, a terracotta-tiled dome, and the Galleria dell’Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s sculpture ‘David,’ are among the city’s masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. In the evening, you will guide you through tasting the famous Tuscan wines at a local wine bar. We will teach you the best pairings and ways to taste each glass based on its culture and tradition. You can enjoy an accompanying meal while tasting in this intimate setting without leaving Florence’s city center.

Day 5: Florence Self-Guided City Tour

Take a self-guided walking tour of Florence to discover this incredible city. Even though the route is just a couple of miles, I plan to enjoy the sights along the way for an entire day.

Get up early to see the world-famous Duomo! The Duomo in Florence, known by its original name, Santa Maria del Fiore, is the world’s third-largest church. The main sanctuary has a modest dress code. Allow an hour to fully experience this iconic location because there is often a line to get in.

Day 6: From Florence to Cinque Terre

From La Spezia, where the train connecting all five villages begins, you will soon start your journey to Cinque Terre by train or private transfer.

Cinque Terre refers to five small fishing villages on the Ligurian coast. Monterosso al Mare, Corniglia, Manarola, Vernazza, and Riomaggiore are among them. The Cinque Terre National Park encompasses the coast, villages, and surrounding hills.

Day 7: The Cinque Terre Coast: Sunset Cruise

In the morning, go alone to Cinque Terre. Enchant yourself with this incredibly unique region, whether you’re relaxing on its idyllic beaches, hiking through its breathtaking trails, or wandering through its colorful villages.

In the evening, join a small group for a sunset boat tour. Throughout the 2.5-hour route from Vernazza, admire the picturesque Cinque Terre fishing villages. Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore are just a few minutes from the sea, as are caves tucked into cliff sides.

Day 8: From Cinque Terre to Venice

The Cinque Terre’s Ligurian coast bids you farewell. You will make your way to Venice from the La Spezia train station west of Italy. With two train changes, it usually takes about five hours to get to your destination.

Make your itinerary and spend the evening exploring the Cannaregio district. It is a wonderful place to stroll through and admire Venice’s Jewish Quarter’s unique, iconic architecture. Cannaregio is home to wonderful restaurants and bars where you can stop for dinner and a drink, in addition to the many artisanal shops.

Day 9: Self-Guided City Tour of Venice

St. Mark’s Square and Piazza San Marco are good places to start your explorations. Before taking in the sights and sounds, take a closer look at the impressive buildings and architecture surrounding the square.

The Doge’s Palace on St. Mark’s Square; despite its nearly 600-year history and various uses, this Venetian building has always been an essential symbol of the country’s past. Before entering the palace and exploring its opulent interiors, you can also visit another famous Venice landmark, the Bridge of Sighs.

Day 10: Depart Venice

After finishing your best travel tour of Italy, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home or your next destination. Create your trip with a well-prepared itinerary or well-planned traveling events.
